DUC Hélices, the French propeller manufacturer located in Villefranche Tarare, in the heart of the Beaujolais vineyards, after obtaining EASA certification for its Flash-R propeller, installed it and started the flight tests on the DR400 equipped with the new Rotax 915iS.
The Flash-R has already been qualified by the Austrian engine manufacturer after the bench tests. Now the propeller operates on the DR400 that is flying for Nogaro Aviation. According to Duc Hélices, “recent tests are now to be considered final”.
This new lightweight, sturdy three-blade propeller, designed with carbon and metal inserts, offers, according to the manufacturer, “A strong constant speed effect and a fuel consumption reduction. It also reduces noise pollution”.
The three-bladed flash-R is available for engines from 100 to 160 Hp, and it’s now offered in three versions depending on the engine.
